Kids Christmas Cook Club Special

This Christmas we are create treats that can be enjoyed over the Festive period.  

We will be making a classic Chocolate Yule Log (or in french, Bouche de Noel) combining the skill of making a light and airy chocolate chiffon sponge then decorating the rolled sponge to create the perfect Christmas scene!  To balance out the sweet we will be baking savoury Puff pastry Pesto Christmas trees oozing with extra cheese!

Note: Please do book early to avoid disappointment. Due to other private bookings and commitments, this will be the only Kids Cook Club I will be running over the festive period.

The  aim of my clubs are to encourage your child to learn about ‘good’ food and to explore new flavours in an educational and fun way.

During a typical session we will cover 2-3 recipes using quality ingredients.  We informally discuss aspects of nutrition, food science, seasonality and where ingredients originate from. Each recipe will be utilising 1 or more essential cooking skill.

For this class the children will make a pesto from scratch. They will roll their puff pastry pastry, top with pesto and shape into a Christmas tree onto a skewer . Once baked they will top with a cheese star.

They will go on to make a light and airy chocolate Chiffon sponge . This will be filled and carefully rolled and filled with Creme Chantilly add topped with chocolate ganache buttercream and decorated to resemble a traditional Christmas log!

For my classes, All children are requested to take a lateral flow test either at a community testing centre or at home within 48 hours of attending your class.

Please do not send your child if they or any other household member are experiencing covid related symptoms.

These class is suitable for Children 9 years and above.  Teens are also welcome!
